Hi all,
Thanks for signing up to be a part of this effort. With so many theories floating around, I wanted to give an update as to Ms. Balmer's true point of view and detail what I meant when I said she was being "forcibly moved".
Ms. Balmer was given 22 hours to make a decision to either accept a full-time job and have an opportunity at making tenure in the district, or to keep her position at Deerfield and have it reduced to 0.6 FTE, which is 60% of a full time job. This Tuesday, she was given this ultimatum in a meeting with a District representative, without the support or representation of anyone else. She was under pressure, distressed, and was advised by several people to "get the tenure and remain in the district" in order to eventually come back to DHS. She'd never imagined stepping out of Deerfield.
In the time between this Tuesday and today, Ms. Balmer has worked tirelessly with colleagues, and we've found simple solutions that require no money at all- simply time and cooperation from the District. That's why support from people like you and me is so crucial at this upcoming board meeting on Tuesday.
Thanks again for your help - please continue to direct people to https://balmer.mikeylab.com for the most updated information. Let me know if you have any questions.
Be well,
Mikey
